DRE technical thead(causes and solutions)
After hard research, reading one billion threats about viper gc DRE , several review of dvd burners and proceed some tests, I hope that this technical post will help everything to solve any problem with DRE in GC backups.

THERE ONLY 2 TECHNICALS CAUSE OF DRE

1 ?BAD GCM IMAGES (TAKE ANOTHER BACKUP OR TRY FIX IT)
2 ?AMOUNT OF 揚I?AND 揚O?ERRORS (RANDOM ERROS) IN BURNED DVD OR MINI DVD MIDIA.(SEE BELOW)

Random errors:

PI error is defined as a row in an ECC block having 1 byte or more containing errors. And that the sum of PI errors in 8 ECC blocks after each other should not exceed 280 PI errors.
A row is 182 bytes long where the last 10 bytes contain PI (Parity Inner) information. An ECC block is 208 rows long where the last 16 rows contains the PO (Parity Outer) information. This gives us a maximum possible PI error amount of 208 errors per block and for 8 blocks after each other this sum is of course 8 times higher giving a maximum possible amount of 1664 PI errors. In practical use we have found that a disc with 1664 PI errors is unreadable.

PO is the Parity Inner uncorrectable errors, meaning errors left after PI correction. If a row of an ECC Block as defined in 13.3 contains more than 5 erroneous bytes, the row is said to be 揚I-uncorrectable??br />
In general, a "perfect" burned dvd should have a smooth reading curve, very low PI errors and zero (0) PO error rates.
THEN UNDERSTAND THIS: ALL COMMERCIAL DVD PLAYER WAS MADE TO TOLERATE ANY AMOUNT PI ERRORS, BUT GC DVD NOT!

This is key to understand how to make a DREfree gc game backup. Most of dvd burners was design to burn midias wiht zero PO error, or near of zero, because this type of error is not acceptable for any common dvd readers. Otherwise theses dvd player can handle realitive amount of PI errors . The problem is the GC DVD DRIVE was design to reader very good quality disc with very low PI errors that only high quality DVD BURN can reproduce it.

As you can see, PI errors increase step by step to the and o dvd disc. This is explain why in 99% GC DRE OCCURS IN THE EDGE OF BURNED DISC. The GC laser find several PI errors there and then can磘 randle with it.
Put in your mind that there are no difference between power of read laser of DOL-001 and DOL- 101, but only incompatibility in swap routine of the cobra03 and cobra04. Then several people have large success in boot backup with dol-101 and others with dol-001 can磘 play anything.

HOW CAN YOU MAKE A WORKING BACKUP OF GC FAVORITE GAME

As you can see, in this example , pioneer 108 and BenQ 1608 model produced a high quality burned dvd+r disc with very low PI errors.

Im my research in several forums, I find that only pioneer 107D, 108D ,109 NEC 35XX, and one or another dvd burner can assure near 100% working dvd disc(even in bad quality dvd midia). To me, pioneer 108D are the best dvd burner to produce a 100% DREfree backup of your favorite GC game with very low PI errors.

THEN TO MAKE A DREfree backup:

1- First, tweak the laser. THIS IS VERY DEPENDENT OF QUALITY OF YOU DVD BURNER X MIDIA

2- Do not spend money take high quality midia if you have a bad dvd burner. Buy one first

3-if you have one, there nothing to tell you, but what lucky man you are!

4 ?Remember: laser power of dol101=dol 001, only incompatibility of cobra03. If you have a dol-101 with cobra04 and boot anything, as I tell above: buy one burner like pioneer 108d, 109 or nec 35XX, but I prefer pioneer 108d and 107d. I don磘 find anyone with this burner that don磘 make 100 working backups.
