Stewart reportedly settles on parting words for ‘Apprentice’ contestants
The Donald has “you're fired” but apparently for Martha Stewart, it's all about the fit.
The New York Post reported Tuesday that Martha Stewart has settled on “You just don't fit in” as her parting words for freshly eliminated contestants on her new reality TV show, “The Apprentice: Martha Stewart,” which debuts September 21 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
In an interview with AP Radio last week, the domestic diva, who is currently under house arrest after her five-month prison stint for lying about a stock sale, refused to reveal her catchphrase. However, she did announce that the show's theme song will be “Sweet Dreams Are Made of This” by the Eurythmics.
On the show, 10 women and six men, ranging in age from 22 to 42, are to compete for 13 weeks on tasks related to Stewart’s areas of expertise — publishing, apparel, entertainment and branding — with a job at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia awaiting the contestant who prevails. Show producers also revealed the hopefuls' first task: Two teams will be formed and assigned to rewrite classic fairy tales (''Jack and the Beanstalk" and ''Hansel and Gretel") to fit modern-day sensibilities.
One big difference from the original “Apprentice”: Daughter Alexis Stewart and Charles Koppelman, the company’s chairman, were also on hand as Stewart’s “eyes and ears” during each week’s task.
